Annie created two cards featuring our sponsor, Sherri Baldy My Besties in July. They are adorable!
This one uses Distress Oxides with water stamping for a unique background. The other is a fun
Bendy Card based on the template and KoalaTCrafts tutorial!

Annie lives in Central Florida with her best friend and husband, children 2 girls and a boy, and many beloved pets; 3 Cats, 3 Pitbulls and 2 Daschunds.  She has been crafting her entire life. Her mother was a seamstress and a painter and taught her how to sew at the early age of 4. And a crafter was born! Annie started Scrapbooking in 1998 and did mostly general crafts; cross-stitching, sewing, painting, crochet before that. She began card making in 2000 and loves sharing her knowledge with others.

Design Team Spotlight ~ Alina Florea

Hey Crafters!
KoalaTCrafts has a great Design Team working to
inspire you with the monthly challenge themes.

Alina Florea is a translator and  former teacher from Romania temporarily living in Norway with her husband and small puppy. She loves all types of crafting and thinks this is because she comes from a family where almost everyone is skilled at something; painting, sewing, carpentry, looming, etc. She has been experimenting with various arts since she was in kindergarten.  5 years ago she began making jewelry for herself because she always liked to have something out of the ordinary wear. Soon after, she discovered paper crafting which quickly became addictive. And so it all started! From her first butterfly punch, she now has a small crafting room where she loves experimenting and playing with supplies.

Alina's beautiful card featuring Sunshine Fluffy was created using watercolor pencils, lots of layering, die cuts, embossing, shells and clear enamel dots.

Visit her blog post HERE for more details.

#39 Craft Your Scraps 5 Minute Card

Hey Crafters! Welcome to a fabulous card from the 5 minute video series on YouTube. This beautiful card, #39 in the series, looks complicated but, as you can see by the timer in the photo, we finished with 14 seconds to spare! Click HERE to see this card come together quickly on YouTube.

Scroll down for the supply list and instructions.
Supplies:
Craft card stock
*Decorative paper(s) 5 inches long or more
Scissors
Foam Tape
Glue

Start with a craft color top folding A2 note card (4.25 by 5.5 inches) and additional card stock.

Cut a 4x5 1/4inch card from from the remaining craft color card stock.

*The decorative paper shown here was made using distress inks with a smoothing technique. Water was sprayed on and then removed for the distress  effect.

Starting about 1/4 inch in from the side, Cut several wave like patterns horizontally leaving  1/4 inch on each side uncut. Make sure you do not cut the wave design all the way through the sides.

We made 7 wavy lines on this card front. Can you see that beautiful wavy lines cut on the craft card stick below?

Trim 3 strips approximately 1x5 inches from decorative paper.

Weave the strips into the waves forming a basket weave like pattern.
TIP! To do this simply alternate over, under, over, under, etc. The next strip will start under, over, under, over, etc. The last strip will be the same as the first; over, under, etc.

Spread the strips evenly from side to side until you have it spaced how you like it. Secure the pattern paper strips to the craft card front on the top and bottom of the card using some liquid glue.

That looks so pretty!

Fussy cut, punch from decorative paper or grab a beautiful butterfly from your stash. Bend the wings up for added dimension. Attach just the center of the butterfly to the card front with wet glue.

Adhere the finished card front to the card base using some foam tape and, ta da, the card is ready. Add your sentiment when you need the card.
